New Theater Opening
Destined to become a premier venue for top-notch performances, the new Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin, NC plans to present the finest in performing arts in an atmosphere of stunning architecture, technical facilities and impeccable acoustics. Cirque: Baggio opens at RGNS
Follow the journey of a clown in Rabun Gap Nacoochee School's original production entitled Cirque: Baggio. It is modeled after the very popular international Cirque du Soleil. This is the school's eighth Cirque-style production.
A cast of 5o students perform in a high energy show combining arobatics, gymnastics, theatre, dance, juggling and character acting and using a variety of apparatus including trapeze, silks, lyra, net, plies and rola rola.
The show opened Thursday evening to a packed house in the Rearden Theater on the RGNS campus. Performances are tonight at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Performances are nearly always sold out, so call ahead to purchase tickets (706) 746-7716. Tickets for adults are $12. Students, children and senior citizens tickets are $8.
